Giuseppe Verdi's opera Un Ballo in Maschera contains two famous soprano roles, strong male solo roles, fine choruses and sharp dramatic situations. And yet it is not quite as popular as some other Verdi operas preceding and following it. The incantation Re dell 'abisso affrettati is sung by the fortune-teller Ulrica in the beginning of the second act.
