This composition pays homage to our veterans and the families who have grieved for them. The main theme is a lyrical melody stated by solo Oboe and then builds to a fuller orchestration. The development section of the work is new material based on the main theme. It is stated by solo Clarinet and Horn. The piece recapitulates with full brasses playing the primary. The composition concludes as it began, delicately and wistful.
