Thomas Charles Louis Ambroise
*Metz, 5. August 1811, +Paris, 12. Februar 1896. Von 1828 bis 1832 studierte er bei Kalkbrenner und Le Sueur am Pariser Konservatorium, ging dann nach Italien und nach Wien und lebte seit 1836 wieder in Paris. Dort wurde er 1871 an die Spitze des Konservatoriums berufen. Als Komponist hinterließ er vor allem dramatische Werke.
