Hindsley Mark Hubert, geb. in Union City, Indiana, 18. Oktober 1905, +Urbana, Illionois, 1. Oktober 1999. In jungen Jahren bereits Mitglied einer Blaskapelle, kam Hindsley zum Studium an die Indiana University, wo er sich dem Blasorchester anschloss. Nach verschiedenen Dirigenten und pädagogischen Aktivitäten, u. a. im National Music Camp in Interlochen und an der American University in Biarritz, Frankreich, dirigierte er 1948 bis zu seiner Emeritierung im Jahr 1970 das symphonische Blasorchester der University of Illinois. Hindsley schuf zahlreiche Bearbeitungen für Blasorchester.
