De wereldbekende Franse crooner Charles Aznavour, geboren in een Armeense familie in Parijs in 1924, is ook bekend als ambassadeur voor Armenië bij de UNESCO. Hij schreef en zong talloze populaire chansons die door hemzelf en andere grote vedettes op plaat werden opgenomen. Sommige titels hebben het ook uitstekend in Engelse versie gedaan; dat was het geval met Hier encore of Yesterday, when I was young, één van zijn grote klassiekers.

French composer and singer Charles Aznavour, born in an Armenian family in Paris in 1924, is also known as travelling Armenian ambassador to the UNESCO. He wrote and sang many popular songs that have been recorded not only be himself, but also by quite some other international star singers. Some of his French songs also had an immense success in their English version; this was the case with Yesterday when I was young, originally called 'Hier encore'.

Le célèbre auteur-compositeur-interprète Charles Aznavour, né en 1924 dans une famille arménienne à Paris, est également connu comme ambassadeur itinérant d'Arménie auprès de l'UNESCO. Il a écrit et interprété d'innombrables chansons qui ont été enregistrées par lui-même et par bon nombre d'autres grandes vedettes internationales. Certains titres ont également connu un grand succès en Anglais ; ce fut le cas pour Hier encore, en Anglais Yesterday when I was young, un de ses grands classiques.
