In 1888 a poor music teacher got engaged to a writer, eight years older than him. Caroline Alice Roberts dedicated her poem The Wind At Dawn to her beloved Edward Elgar. And he composed his Liebesgruß for her; a short masterwork that would later become better known by its French title Salut d'amour. Salut d'amour is a classic masterpiece arranged for wind band by Jan Molenaar.

Un professeur de musique pauvre s'est engagé en 1888 auprès d'un écrivain de huit ans plus âgé. Caroline Alice Roberts a dédié le poème The Wind at Dawn à son bien-aimé Edward Elgar. Et il composa pour elle son Liebesgruss, un petit chef-d'uvre qui devint plus tard célèbre sous le titre français de Salut d'amour. Salut d'Amour est un chef-d'uvre classique arrangé pour orchestre à vent par Jan Molenaar.
