Gioacchino Rossini (1792-1868) was één van de grote componisten van de Italiaanse Operaschool, zelfs al heeft hij zijn meest productieve jaren in Parijs doorgebracht. Hij heeft deze twee marsen gecomponeerd voor de Kroonprins van Zweden en Noorwegen in 1836, net voor zijn terugkeer naar Italië. Ze werden onlangs ontdekt in de Bernadotte Bibliotheek in het Koninkijk Kasteel te Stockholm. Birger Jarl schreef deze orkestratie voor het moderne blaasorkest.

Gioacchino Rossini (1792-1868) was one of the great composers of the Italian operatic School, even though most of these productive years were spent in Paris. He has written these two marches for the crown prince of Sweden and Norway in 1836, just before Rossini returned to Italy.These two marches have now been discovered in the Bernadotte Library at the Royal Castle in Stockholm and are instrumentated for wind band by Birger Jarl.

Gioacchino Rossini (1792-1868) est l'un des grands compositeurs de l'Ecole de l'Opéra Italien, bien que la plus grande partie de son oeuvre ait été composée lors de ses séjours à Paris. Il a composé ces deux marches pour le prince héritier de Suède et Norvège en 1836, juste avant de retourner en Italie. Les deux marches ont été découvertes à la Bibliothèque Bernadotte au Palais Royal de Stockholm; elles ont été arrangées pour l'orchestre à vent contemporain par Birger Jarl.
