Savages Jean-Philippe Rameau / Arr. Rob Wiffin
Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683-1764) ist heute vor allem als Musiktheoretiker ein Begriff , obwohl er auch ein bemerkenswerter Komponist war. Vom Besuch zweier amerikanischer Ureinwohner aus Louisiana in Paris fasziniert, schrieb er das Cembalostück Les Sauvages (Die Wilden) und verwendete es später in seinem Opernballett Les Indes Galantes als Tanz der großen Friedenspfeife. Dieses gelungene Arrangement bewahrt den Geist des Originals, betrachtet es aber aus einem neuen Blickwinkel.
