As a composer, Johann Strauss Sr. is probably less well known than his son Johann Strauss Jr., but his 'Radeztky March' is still one of the most popular pieces in classical music. Besides this march he composed many other works, mainly waltzes, marches and polkas. One of these is the 'Chinese Galopp' which has now been transcribed for Symphonic Band by the Dutch arranger Thom Roosen.
