Toward a New Life werd al bekend bij de Olympische Spelen van 1932 en is daarna nooit meer uit de aandacht verdwenen. Josef Suk won er destijds de olympische medaille voor beste muziek mee. Ton van Grevenbroek maakte er een weergaloos arrangement van.

Towards A New Life (Josef Suk) was written in 1919 as a patriotic march, dedicated to the young Czechoslovakian army. In the same year he submitted this work to a composition competition where this march was chosen as the winner. Suk's festive march received further accolades when it was chosen as the winners march during the Olympic Games held in Los Angeles in 1932. During World War II it was the opening tune to the radio broadcast of the Czech government in the United Kingdom. A splendid opening piece for Harmony or Fanfare Band, skilfully arranged by Ton van Grevenbroek.

'Toward a New Life' (Josef Suk) était crée en 1919 comme une marche patriottique, dédiée à la jeune armée Tchèque. La même année, il a utilisé cet oeuvre pour un concours de composition, où cette marche était élu comme vainqueur. La qualité de la marche festive de Suk était par la suite reconnu en 1932, quand elle fut élue comme marche gagnante pendant les Jeux Olympiques à Los Angeles. Pendant la deuxième guerre mondiale c'était l'air d'ouverture du station de radio du gouvernement Tchèque en exil en Angleterre. Une ouverture vraiment splendide pour harmonie ou fanfare, arrangé avec beaucoup de compétence par Ton van Grevenbroek.
