Everybody's Mambo was written spring 2010 on commission from the municipality of Asker in Norway. The aim of the composition was to write groovy and catchy music that could be played by musicians of all ages. The composer was inspired by the traditional New Orleans parades, where the music is very rhythmic and features easy, melodic themes. And, above all, the song had to be suitable for dancing!

[NO]Everybodys Mambo ble skrevet våren 2010, og var et bestillingsverk til Askerstevnet 2010 fra Asker Kommune. Stykket ble brukt som fellesnummer for alle korpsene ute i Akser sentrum. Tanken var å skrive musikk som utadvendt, groovy, fengende , gøy å spille og med overkommelige stemmer for alle aldersgrupper. Komponisten hentet mye inspirasjon fra paradetradisjonen i New Orleans, der musikken er svært rytmisk orientert, og har enkle sangbare temaer. Og ikke minst skal den være dansbar!
