De partij voor de solotrompet is beschikbaar voor Bb en C instrumenten. De Bb partij voorziet het gebruik van een Bb bugel in de tweede beweging, terwijl de C partij helemaal voor trompet bedoeld is en speciaal uitgegeven werd voor die spelers die de C- trompet verkiezen.Toch verkiest de componist het gebruik van de Bb bugel zoals aangegeven bij het begin van de tweede beweging en verder uitsluitend waar het aangeduid staat in de tweede beweging. Daarom kan de solopartij op één vvan de volgende manieren uitgevoerd worden: 1) op een Bb trompet en een Bb bugel, overeenkomstig de oorspronkelijke bedoeling van de componist; 2) helemaal op Bb trompet; of 3) helemaal op C trompet.

The B-flat part incorporates the use of B-flat Fl: ugelhorn in the second movement, but the C part is entirely for trumpet in C for the convenience of those players who prefer the C instrument.
