Here is a very approachable piano solo feature for developing players that is entirely notated for the soloist. Much of the chart is for solo piano and arco bass and is reminiscent of those wonderful piano interludes of Stan Kenton. Rubato throughout, this ballad sets a quiet mood and the brass players add to the color with harmon and cup mutes. Additionally, it's playable with an optional limited instrumentation of 3 saxes, 2 trumpets, 1 trombone, piano, bass and drums. Really nice!
