In a series of three compositions, Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (1844-1908) wrote three pieces for solo instrument with military band accompaniment: for oboe, trombone and finally clarinet. Rimsky-Korsakov was a celebrated composer who taught numerous masters, such as Serge Prokofieff and Igor Stravinsky.
