In 1991 werd de Russische stad Leningrad na meer dan zeventig jaar opnieuw tot Sint Petersburg herdoopt. Dit stuk is gebaseerd op Russische volkswijsjes en is aan de inwoners van deze prachtige stad opgedragen.

In 1991 the Russian town Leningrad has been renamed Saint Petersburg again, after a period of more than 70 years. This piece, based on Russian folksongs, is dedicated to the people of this beautiful town.
