In de geschiedenis van de Amerikaanse musical speelt het duo Richard Rodgers en Oscar Hammerstein II een vooraanstaande rol. Hun samenwerking startte in 1943 en resulteerde meteen in het enorme succes 'Oklahoma', later kwamen daar o.m. 'South Pacific', 'The King and I' en 'The Sound of Music' bij. Met zijn gebruikelijke vaardigheid en talent maakte Peter Kleine Schaars dit geslaagde arrangement van de bekende song 'It might as well be spring' uit de film 'State Fair' (1962), een muzikale komedie van José Ferrer met Pat Boone in de hoofdrol.

The associated artists Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II played a prominent role in the history of the American musical. Their collaboration started in 1943 and resulted immediately in the big hit, 'Oklahoma'. A series of extremely successful musicals followed, such as 'South Pacific', 'The King and I' and 'The Sound of Music'. With his usual skill and talent, Peter Kleine Schaars made this fine wind band arrangement of the famous song 'It might as well be spring' from the film 'State Fair' (1962), a musical comedy by José Ferrer starring Pat Boone.
