Fort Stijn Aertgeerts

The piece Fort' was commissioned by K.K.F. De Eendracht from Itegem (Heist o/d Berg) to celebrate their 175th anniversary.

Fort is the nickname of the fanfare band, as many employees from the Fort roastery used to play in the band. Almost the whole of the village was connected to the former food company. The bright yellow trucks drove off and on and the smell of freshly roasted coffee evokes many memories with the local community.
