Hovland Egil, geboren in Råde, Norwegen, 18. Oktober 1924. Zunächst in Oslo, dann bei Aaron Copland in Tanglewood erhielt er die musikalische Ausbildung. Er ist seit 1949 als Organist in Fredrikstad tätig und komponiert vorzüglich Kirchenmusik.
