He was a prestigious pedagogue, arranger and director since 1960 of the Orfeón Santiago and the University Choir. Considered the Dean of choral music in the Greater Antilles with a broad work not only as founder and director of choral groups, but as a composer and researcher. His pedagogical and jury work transcended the borders of the Cuban archipelago to become notable in several nations of America and Europe.
