*Canterbury, England, 1921. Seit 1935 Militärmusiker, trat er 1945 in die Militärmusikschule Kneller Hall ein, die er mit der Kapellmeisterprüfung 1950 abschloss. Bis zu seiner Pensionierung im Jahr 1978 diente er bei verschiedenen Regimentern.
