Bobrowitz David geb. in Brooklyn, New York, 21. Februar 1945. Er absolvierte das Mannes College of Music sowie das Columbia University Teachers College und studierte Komposition privat bei Robert Russell Bennett. Danach arbeitete er als Posaunist und freischaffender Komponist in New York, bis er 1970 als Dirigent des Symphonie- und Blasorchesters in die Great Neck South Middle School eintrat, deren Musikabteilung er seit 1975 leitete.
