Er studierte u. a. an der Northwestern University, am VanderCook College of Music und an der Columbia University, um danach als Pädagoge in Michigan, Kansas, Chicago sowie am VanderCook College zuwirken. Seine zahlreichen Blasorchesterkompositionen sind vor allem für untere Schwierigkeitsgrade angelegt.
