Cattin François geb. in Moutier, Kanton Bern, Schweiz, 12. Juni 1972. Er absolvierte 1997 das Konservatorium in Bern mit dem Konzertdiplom im Fach Posaune, ergänzende Studien absolvierte er bei Eric Gaudibert, Georges Aperghis und Salvatore Sciarrino in La Chaux de Fonds, Bern und Genf. Cattin ist als Musiklehrer und Dirigent am Lycée Blaise-Cendrars in La Chaux-de-Fonds und am Konservatorium in Neuchàtel tätig.
