Die Brüder Meyrelles kamen 1870 in die USA, wo sie als Musiker, Dirigenten und Komponisten äußerst vielseitig und erfolgreich tätig waren. Vor allem Miguell hinterließ zahlreiche Marsch- und Unterhaltungskompositionen, die zumeist im Verlag Fischer gedruckt erschienen.
