A prolific composer/arranger for orchestras and bands in this country and abroad, John Cacavas has had enormous exposure to mass audiences, having scored over 400 one-hour TV shows, 50 television movies, and 15 feature films. A native of Aberdeen, South Dakota, Mr. Cacavas established his musical identy throughout his college years and graduated from Northwestern University with a drgree in composition and theory. He joined the armed forces after college, serving as an arranger with the renowned United States Army Band in Washington, DC. He has also published two books, "Orchestration and Music Arranging" and "The Art of Writing Music".

Als überaus produktiver Komponist/Arrangeur für Orchester in den USA und anderen Ländern ist John Cacavas nicht zuletzt wegen seiner Musik für über 400 einstündige Fernsehshows, 50 Fernsehfilme und 15 Spielfilme auch dem Massenpublikum ein Begriff. Der in Aberdeen, South Dakota, geborene Cacavas etablierte sich bereits in seiner Collegezeit als Musiker und schloß anschließend erfolgreich sein Studium der Komposition und Musiktheorie an der Northwestern University ab. Nach dem Studium ging er zur Army, wo er als Arrangeur für die angesehene United States Army Band in Washington, DC, arbeitete. Er hat zwei Bücher veröffentlicht: Orchestration and Music Arranging und The Art of Writing Music.
