Gerstbrein Franz geb. in Straubing, Bayern, 7. Februar 1959. Nach dem Studium im Fach Trompete an der Musikhochschule in München gehörte er verschiedenen Kultur- und Unterhaltungsorchestern an. Für Blasmusik schrieb und bearbeitete er vor allem Marsch- und Polkamusik, die u. a. in den Verlagen Ewoton, Grünbauer/Cham, HeBu, Rundel, Seifert erschienen ist.
