George Michael (* 25. Juni 1963 in Finchley, London als Georgios Kyriakos Panagiotou; † 25. Dezember 2016 in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire) war ein britischer Sänger, Komponist, Songwriter und Musikproduzent.

Michael gründete im Jahr 1981 das Duo Wham! und veröffentlichte 1987 sein erstes Soloalbum mit Namen Faith, das auch das kommerziell erfolgreichste Album seiner Karriere ist. Zudem schrieb er die ebenfalls erfolgreichen Songs Careless Whisper, Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go und Last Christmas (alle 1984 erschienen). Zu Lebzeiten wurden mehr als 100 Millionen seiner Tonträger verkauft und Michael gewann zwei Grammy Awards.
