*Nuneaton, England, 29. Januar 1980. Am Royal College of Music in Manchester zählten Anthony Gilbert, David Horne und Adam Gorb zu seinen Lehrern, an der University of Salford Peter Graham und Joe Duddell. Meechan wandte sich seit 2005 bevorzugt der Musik für Brassband zu, 2006/07 arbeitete er als "Composer in Residence" für die Black Dyke Band. Seit 2006 verbreitet er seine Werke in einem eigenen Musikverlag.
