dIndy Vincent geb. in Paris, 27. März 1851, ebda., 2. Dezember 1931. Spross einer südfranzösischen Adelsfamilie, der Musik bei Diémer, Marmontel, Lavignac und C. Franck studierte und sich für Berlioz, Wagner und Bach begeisterte. Nach Organistenjahren in Paris besuchte er 1873 Liszt in Weimar. 1876 wohnte er den ersten Bayreuther Festspielen bei. Das französische Kulturgeschehen verdankt ihm wesentliche Erneuerungen, vor allem die 1896 erfolgte Gründung der Schola cantorum.
